“ Information about the painting 🖼️ “
This is an exact replica of the Ball Game from the pre-Columbian Mayan era. It features the Mayan calendar and the snake, a symbol of health and fortune.
The Ball Game, known as “Pokolpok” by the Mayans, is considered a predecessor of football, being one of the oldest team sports in the world 🌍.
This game consisted of two teams with around 7 members each, with the primary objective being to pass the ball through the hoops on the court. The ball was only allowed to be manipulated using the hips, shoulders, and elbows.
The ball used in the game was made by the players themselves using natural ingredients from a tree, which was transformed into rubber 🌳.
